ENGAGING STUDENTS IN ONLINE READING GAMES: A STUDENT-CENTERED LEARNING PERSPECTIVE

2020 might be unforgettable for teachers since they need to face the challenging teaching situation in ruinous Covid-19 pandemic. To deliver lesson, varied online applications reach their students. Furthermore, more media ensure students grasp what achieve as a learning outcome. Online games are used this study supportive tool after lecturing session about Reading Strategies. it is engage practice student-centered so that will autonomous learners. There four i.e. Main Idea Millionaire, Storm, Context Clues, and Scanning Skimming games, which provided three different websites. This qualitative phenomenological expecting capture details experience of then describe meaning findings based on subjects’ individual experience. The was conducted Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, exactly at Architectural Engineering Department. Based findings, thought reading helped them visualize context particular texts because its good animation sound effects. Students, teacher’s evaluation, became active engaging themselves class discussion having several activities playing games. They said could easily play over anytime. proves employed can boost students’ confidence encourage situation.
